Blogger Business Tips + Resources – 7 & 8

7.If You Want Customers To Care, Your Customer Care Needs To Be Top Notch

You've heard it before but taking care of your customers should be your number one priority, you wouldn't even have a business without them.

Again, this comes into the business integrity issue, but more than that it's about making someone's day and ultimately getting them to keep coming back and tell others about your business and how you gave them such good customer service!

If you look after them, how can they not come back?

Good Customer Service Tips

8. Be Tigger

Those of you who know me in real life will know that I am the girl who has been knocked down more times than I can count, but I am also the girl who has gotten up more times than most. You have to.

Tigger never ever stops bouncing, you shouldn't either.

You can't predict what is going to happen in life but you are responsible for how you react. Get up and keep going, if you have a dream then make it happen, no one else is going to do it for you and you are the right person for the job.
Business, like life, is a roller-coaster, and you do have to learn to roll with the punches, but it is worth it in the long run. If being your own boss is the thing you need to do to be fulfilled in life, then get up and make something awesome happen!
Remember any issue you have in business is likely to already have been experienced by someone else and chances are that someone has written a book or uploaded a video on that very topic. Don't be afraid to reach out, it can create great working relationships  and is good for your well-being and business.
We are designed to grow, if we stay still too long, we usually wind up falling and looking back. Also, don't neglect your spiritual growth. Take some time out just to relax and be at peace.

Don't think you know it all, stay teachable and keep learning, keep growing and make your business awesome, because you can.

You just need to believe that and get to work.

Blogger Business Tips + Resources – 6 - Don't Be Beige.

Standing out is the only way to make people take notice of you.

Don’t be beige it’s boring.

Beige stays in the comfort box doesn’t take risks and doesn’t make a difference. Some of you reading this will only be wanting to make a success of your business, but some of you may well be looking to make history.

Did beige ever do that?

No.

Being undecided and lacking focus  is just not an option if you want to make it in the business world. Taking risks is just part of the deal. Running a business is hard work, beige would take the short cut, stay in the middle and be satisfied with less than the best. Beige only pretends to be safe, but really beige is poison to you being and your business.

Don’t be beige.

If fear is an issue for you then Susan Jeffers book could be as life changing for you as it was for me.

Why I Quit Ghost Writing

For as long as I can remember, words have always had a way of reaching my soul and bringing out the essence of whatever I am feeling in a given moment. Words have never failed me. Sometimes it's through writing posts to inspire artists to chase their wide-eyes schemes or other times its reading the words of inspirational people that are long gone, or maybe not so long gone. Or other times still, words have other ways of reaching me. I have always found that words are my way of understanding the world around me.  In recent years however, I feel although I have betrayed my words.

Now don't get me wrong, reading the words of others can definitely have it's benefits but there a lot to be said for laying your own soul bare by casting your words out to the world and completely apologetically sharing what you think, feel and believe in.

Writing the words of other people can teach you many timeless lessons too. This is something I have become all too familiar with in recent years as I have been leading the life of a freelance ghost writer in London. I'm not there anymore and it is only through the distance from the city I will always love, that I am able to see a very cold hard fact that I need to rectify..... I've fallen into a rut and betrayed my own words in the process.

The thing about ghost writing is that it's great, there is an element of stability in writing with no acknowledgement for the work you do, you just do the work, get paid and move on to the next project and there is  certainly a level of security and safety in that.

That's the problem though, it's too safe.

Humans were not designed for the safe life though, and the the comfort of a well thought-out routine can become a stifling rut that suffocates you if you do not find ways to keep it fresh and continue growing.

It was circumstance that forced me to leave London, and the all too familiar routine of working and hiding that I become accustomed too and lets be real, I was hiding.

Choosing to ghost write for a living is fine, so long as you have other outlets for your work where you are getting some sort of acknowledgement for your work, but I was not doing that. Sure  I had a blog but over time I let my blog fall further and further into the background and took on the persona of the ghost part of my job.

Even the "Esther" part of my pen name was so chosen because it means "hidden"

I've built my blogging career around that name and honestly my life is in limbo I feel very little loyalty to my current sir name but I am not fully able to take on the name I would if it were up to me and so now, the name stays but the hiding stops.

It's still a question mark as to what happens from here, I don't know if circumstances will change in favor of returning to London anytime soon, but one thing I know for sure is I am not a ghost and I'm done hiding!

So that's where I am and why I am writing this blog, (and all the others)

There is nothing safe about this decision and I know the timing is kind of horrible given the fact I just moved back home, but somehow it feels right and what's more I want to grow.

So then here is where we start, right at the beginning of this new season.
