Mindful May: The gift of paying attention

The Gift of Paying Attention 👀

So much of life passes us by simply because we aren’t paying attention. Our minds are busy with worries, to-do lists, and distractions. But when we choose to be fully present, we discover that God’s blessings are often hidden in plain sight.

“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”
— Psalm 34:8

Attention as a Spiritual Practice

Paying attention isn’t just about focus—it’s about noticing God’s fingerprints in the details of life. The color of a sunset, the kindness of a stranger, the quiet nudge to pray—all become moments of encounter when we are awake to them.

Jesus modeled this beautifully. He noticed the people others overlooked: the woman at the well, the blind man at the roadside, the children brought near to Him. His attention was a form of love.

How to Practice Attention

  • Slow Down: Don’t rush from one thing to the next. Pause. Notice.

  • Look Closely: What details around you might hold beauty you’ve missed before?

  • Listen Deeply: Not just to words, but to tone, silence, and heart.

  • Ask God: “What are You showing me right here, right now?”

Reflection for Today

🌿 What might you notice today if you slowed down and paid closer attention?
🌿 Who in your life may be longing for the gift of your full presence?

Mindful May reminds us that attention is love in action. When we open our eyes, ears, and hearts, we discover God has been present all along.

Mindful May : Breathing as Prayer

Breathing as Prayer 🌿

Breath is one of the simplest and most powerful gifts we’ve been given. From the very beginning, God breathed life into humanity (Genesis 2:7). Every inhale and exhale is a quiet reminder: we are alive because of Him.

“The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life.”
— Job 33:4

The Sacredness of Breath

When life feels overwhelming, our breathing often becomes shallow and hurried. But when we pause to breathe deeply, we make space for peace. Each breath can become a prayer—a way of grounding ourselves in God’s presence.

A Simple Breath Prayer

Here’s a gentle practice you can try anywhere:

  1. Inhale slowly and pray in your heart: “Lord Jesus Christ…”

  2. Exhale gently and pray: “…have mercy on me.”

Repeat several times, letting the rhythm of your breath anchor your soul in God’s love.

Why This Matters

Breath prayers remind us that we don’t have to use many words to be close to God. Sometimes prayer is as simple as being still, breathing, and knowing He is near.

Reflection for Today

🌼 How often do you notice your breath during the day?
🌼 Try a breath prayer once today—what shifts in your body, mind, or spirit as you do?

Mindful May teaches us that prayer doesn’t always need to be long or complex. Sometimes, prayer is already flowing in and out with every breath we take.

5 Mindful Practices for busy days

5 Mindful Practices for Busy Days 🌼

Life often moves so quickly that we forget to pause, breathe, and notice the presence of God in the middle of it all. Mindful May invites us to slow down—not by emptying our minds, but by filling them with awareness of God’s nearness.

“Be still, and know that I am God.”
— Psalm 46:10

Why Mindfulness Matters for Faith

Mindfulness isn’t just a trend—it’s a practice of paying attention, something Scripture has encouraged all along. By becoming more aware of our thoughts, surroundings, and feelings, we create space to notice God’s gentle voice in the noise of daily life.

Five Simple Practices

  1. Morning Pause
Before you pick up your phone, take 3 slow breaths and whisper a short prayer of thanks.

  2. Scripture Breath
Pick a verse (like Psalm 23:1) and repeat it slowly with each breath. Let the words settle into your heart.

  3. Gratitude Glance
Choose one ordinary thing around you—a cup of tea, a flower, a child’s laughter—and thank God for it.

  4. Slow Listening
When someone speaks, listen fully without planning your reply. See it as a gift of presence.

  5. Evening Reflection
Before bed, ask: Where did I notice God today? Write down one small moment.

Reflection for Today

🌱 Which of these mindful practices feels most life-giving to you right now?
🌱 How might God be inviting you to slow down and notice Him in the middle of your busy day?

Mindful May reminds us that God is not found only in the big moments—He’s here in every breath, if we pause long enough to notice.

The beauty of starting small

The Beauty of Starting Small 🌱

When we think of awakening or growth, it’s tempting to imagine big, dramatic changes—major life shifts, bold decisions, or grand spiritual breakthroughs. But Scripture reminds us that often, God works through the small, steady beginnings.

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.”
— Zechariah 4:10 (NLT)

God’s Joy in the Little Things

The Lord doesn’t wait until we’ve “arrived” to delight in us. He rejoices in each small step—every whispered prayer, every kind word, every decision to turn our hearts toward Him. Just as a gardener celebrates the first sprout pushing through the soil, God celebrates the little awakenings in our lives.

Awakening Is a Process

Awakening doesn’t happen overnight. It unfolds slowly, like buds opening on a tree. Some days we notice growth; other days it seems hidden. But underneath, God is always at work.

Think of the mustard seed in Matthew 13:31–32. It starts as the smallest of seeds, yet grows into a tree where birds can rest. Our smallest acts of faith, trust, or love can grow into something far greater than we imagine.

Reflection for Today

🌼 Where in your life do you feel pressure to “arrive” quickly?
🌼 What is one small step you can take this week toward awakening—whether in prayer, gratitude, service, or simply resting in God’s love?

Remember: the Lord rejoices not just in the finished work, but in the beginning.

✨ May this April remind you that awakening is less about big leaps and more about faithful little steps. Your smallest beginnings matter, because God delights in them.

Awakening April. : The Beauty of everyday joy

The Beauty of Everyday Joy 🌼

Joy doesn’t always come in fireworks and celebrations. More often, it hides in the simple, everyday places—like sunlight through the window, a shared laugh, or the quiet relief of God’s presence after a long day.

*“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”*

— Psalm 118:24

---

 Joy in the Ordinary

When we awaken to God’s presence, we begin to notice joy in the seemingly small things. Ordinary moments become extraordinary when we see them through the lens of gratitude.

Jesus Himself often pointed to simple things—birds in the sky, lilies in the field, bread on the table—as signs of God’s care. If He found God’s love in everyday life, so can we.

 Joy as a Choice

Joy isn’t always a feeling; sometimes it’s a decision. Even in seasons of heaviness, we can choose to look for glimpses of light. This doesn’t mean ignoring pain—it means believing that God’s goodness still breaks through, even in small ways.

Reflection for Today

🌸 What ordinary joys have you overlooked this week?

🌸 Take a moment to name three simple blessings today and thank God for them.

✨ Awakening April reminds us that joy doesn’t need to be loud—it often whispers in the quiet corners of our daily lives.

Reflecting on Daisy Changes 15th Birthday

Hey there, welcome back to Daisy Change,

I'm over the moon you are here.

It's been a hot minute since I last posted and I've decided to change up some things, so this post is a bit of house keeping before we get stuck back into the content I have planned.

Firstly, fashion is still going to be a topic we talk about here but I have decided to extend the content of this blog to the lifestyle tag, and under that topic we are going to talk about a range of other things here.

For those of you who don't know, I just celebrated 15th year blogging. I didn't acknowledge it here, I did so on another blog, one that I have since decided to end and bring the content from over here.

Why waste quality posts?

If you are looking to change your wardrobe and your life then those posts that will be posted here, will be excellent for you.

My goal with my blog is to serve. I want me readers to get more out of my work than the surface level.

It is with that in mind, that I've decided to build this blog on four pillars.

They are : Joy, Integrity, Vibrancy and Eternity.

In other words J.I.V.E yes you can do the jazz hands when you say it.

Let me break it down,

Joy - Joy is a mini acronym in its self, it's Jesus Others You the order we do things around here.

Yep that's right, you can expect faith based content but it won't be every post.

It is however a thread that will weave in and out of my other posts.

Integrity - I don't see the point of writing without it. I am prepared to go deep with my audience, let you see my soul in my words, but only if I authentically believe that it will help you. No point otherwise.

Vibrancy - This is all about coming at you with a high vibe, bright and colorful, and a high energy.

Eternity - We blog through the eyes of eternity, considering how individual posts are going to age.

I will go deeper on each of these concepts, but this was a short introduction to the pillars that guide me.

Hopefully you find it inspiring to read this blog.

Catch you next post and we'll begin.

Spring cleaning for the soul

Spring Cleaning for the Soul 🌸

April arrives with the soft promise of new beginnings. The air feels lighter, flowers push their way through the soil, and the world itself seems to whisper: it’s time to awaken. Many of us use this season for a physical spring clean—clearing out closets, dusting shelves, and opening the windows wide. But what if we also treated April as a chance for spring cleaning of the soul?

Why Our Souls Need Spring Cleaning

Just like our homes, our inner lives collect clutter. Worries pile up like old papers. Habits we’ve outgrown sit like unused boxes in the corner. Resentments gather dust. Over time, this clutter weighs us down.

Ecclesiastes 3:6 reminds us: “a time to keep and a time to throw away.” Awakening April invites us to discern what’s worth keeping in our spirits—and what needs to be released.

Steps to Clear the Spiritual Clutter

1. Open the Windows of Prayer

Begin by letting in fresh air. Prayer, silence, or meditation opens space in the heart for God’s presence. Just a few minutes of stillness can help us see what’s been hidden in the corners of our soul.

2. Dust Off Old Habits

What routines have become lifeless? Maybe it’s a rushed morning scroll through social media, or a pattern of negative self-talk. Replace one dusty habit with a fresh one: a verse on your mirror, a mindful breath before your day begins, or a gratitude list at night.

3. Sweep Away Resentment

Unforgiveness and bitterness are like cobwebs—sticky, subtle, and draining. Ask: Who am I still holding in the corner of my heart? Begin the gentle process of letting go. Forgiveness doesn’t excuse harm, but it frees you to breathe again.

4. Polish What Matters Most

After the clutter is gone, polish the treasures. Relationships, creativity, service, joy—these are the things worth shining. Give them your energy, and they’ll reflect light back into your life.

The Beauty of a Clean Soul

Spring cleaning doesn’t mean perfection—it means making space for renewal. When we release what no longer serves us, we awaken to new growth, deeper peace, and a heart that feels lighter.

As Isaiah 43:19 says: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” God is always planting newness within us. Our job is to clear the ground so it can take root.

Reflection Prompt 🌼

What “soul clutter” do you feel called to release this April? And what new habit, joy, or practice do you want to polish and nurture in its place?

✨ With this post, Awakening April begins. May this month invite you to open your windows wide, breathe in fresh air, and let your soul awaken to new light.

The Dangers of Chinese Freemasonry

The Dangers of Chinese Freemasonry: A Christian Perspective

Freemasonry has long been a topic of concern among Christians due to its secretive nature, esoteric teachings, and incompatibility with biblical Christianity. While much has been written about Western Freemasonry, less attention has been given to Chinese Freemasonry, which operates under different structures but retains similar spiritual dangers. From a Christian perspective, involvement in Chinese Freemasonry can lead to spiritual deception, idolatry, and a departure from true faith in Christ.

The Origins and Influence of Chinese Freemasonry

Chinese Freemasonry, often associated with secret societies such as the Triads, emerged in the 17th century as a brotherhood with political and social aims. While some branches claim to promote benevolence and fraternity, many have historically been involved in criminal activities, oath-bound secrecy, and rituals that are deeply rooted in Chinese folk religion, Taoism, and Buddhism. These spiritual influences are incompatible with Christianity, which teaches exclusive devotion to Jesus Christ (John 14:6).

The Spiritual Dangers of Chinese Freemasonry

1. Secret Oaths and Allegiances

The Bible warns against taking secret oaths (Matthew 5:34-37; James 5:12), yet Chinese Freemasonry requires members to swear loyalty under blood-binding agreements. These oaths create spiritual bondage and contradict Christ’s command for His followers to be people of truth.

2. Pagan Rituals and Idolatry

Many Chinese Freemason lodges incorporate religious ceremonies that involve incense burning, ancestor veneration, and invoking spiritual entities. These practices are forms of idolatry (Exodus 20:3-5) and open doors to demonic influence (1 Corinthians 10:20-21). Christians are called to worship God alone and avoid any participation in pagan rituals.

3. Deception and Works-Based Salvation

Freemasonry, whether Western or Chinese, teaches moral self-improvement and esoteric wisdom as a path to enlightenment. This contradicts the biblical teaching that salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). Freemasonry’s reliance on secret knowledge and human effort is a deception that leads people away from true faith.

4. Opposition to the Gospel

Historically, many Chinese secret societies have resisted Christianity, viewing it as a foreign religion. Some Chinese Freemason groups have actively persecuted Christian missionaries and converts. The spiritual forces behind such opposition reflect the biblical reality that “the whole world lies under the power of the evil one” (1 John 5:19).

A Call to Spiritual Discernment

Christians must remain vigilant and discerning about any organization that demands secrecy, alternative spiritual practices, or allegiances that conflict with the lordship of Christ. The Bible commands believers to “test the spirits” (1 John 4:1) and to separate from anything that leads to spiritual compromise (2 Corinthians 6:14-17).

Rather than seeking brotherhood in secret societies, Christians should find their identity in the body of Christ, the true and eternal fellowship (Hebrews 10:25). Only in Jesus can we find salvation, wisdom, and true spiritual freedom.

Conclusion

Chinese Freemasonry, like its Western counterpart, presents serious spiritual dangers that no Christian should ignore. Its secretive nature, occultic rituals, and opposition to biblical faith place it in direct contradiction to Christianity. As followers of Christ, we are called to reject all forms of spiritual deception and stand firm in the truth of God’s Word. Instead of seeking enlightenment through hidden knowledge, we must remember that “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10) and that true freedom is found in Christ alone (John 8:32).

Why Change Fails Without God

Change is one of the few constants in life. Whether it's personal growth, career transitions, relationships, or broader societal shifts, the need to adapt and transform is ever-present. However, despite the best intentions, many efforts at change fail. Plans unravel, resolutions fade, and goals remain unmet. For Christians, the answer to why change so often fails lies in one profound truth: lasting change cannot succeed without God.

1. Human Effort Alone is Insufficient

Human beings are limited in wisdom, strength, and willpower. While motivation and planning are important components of change, relying solely on our own resources is like building a house on sand (Matthew 7:26-27). Without a solid foundation in God, change lacks the stability to endure the inevitable storms of life.

Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
When we exclude God from the process of change, we lean entirely on our own understanding, which is often flawed, limited, and short-sighted.

---

2. The Root of Transformation is Spiritual

Real, lasting change begins in the heart. Without addressing the deeper issues of sin, selfishness, and brokenness, any outward change is temporary at best. God is the one who transforms hearts and renews minds (Romans 12:2). Without Him, we may attempt to change behaviors but fail to address the root causes of the struggles we face.

For example, someone may try to change their anger problem by practicing breathing techniques or avoiding triggers. While these strategies may help for a time, the root issue—pride, unforgiveness, or unresolved pain—remains. Only through God’s power can the heart be transformed, leading to genuine and lasting change. Ezekiel 36:26 speaks of this transformation:
"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh."

---

3. Change Without Purpose is Directionless

One of the greatest pitfalls in pursuing change without God is a lack of eternal purpose. When we attempt change for superficial reasons—whether to gain approval, increase status, or simply achieve personal comfort—we miss the greater purpose for which we were created. God has a unique plan for each of our lives (Jeremiah 29:11), and when we surrender to His will, our efforts at change are aligned with His eternal purposes.

Without God, even successful changes can feel empty. We might achieve our goals but find ourselves asking, "What now?" True purpose and fulfillment come when our changes are part of God’s larger plan to glorify Him and serve others.

---

4. Pride Leads to Failure

Another reason change fails without God is that pride gets in the way. When we try to accomplish change on our own, we risk becoming self-reliant and prideful, believing that we are the ultimate source of our success. Proverbs 16:18 warns us:
"Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall."
Without the humility to seek God’s guidance, we are prone to making decisions that lead to failure, frustration, and even harm. God invites us to humble ourselves before Him, recognizing our dependence on His wisdom and strength.

---

5. God Provides Strength for Perseverance

Change is rarely easy. It often requires perseverance through challenges, setbacks, and opposition. Without God, we lack the strength to endure when the road gets tough. Isaiah 40:29-31 promises:
"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak...but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

When we rely on our own strength, we burn out. But when we turn to God, He provides the endurance we need to press on. Through prayer, His Word, and the encouragement of His Spirit, we are reminded that His power is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

---

6. Lasting Change Requires Grace

Without God, change becomes a relentless pursuit of perfection—a cycle of striving, failing, and feeling defeated. But God’s grace breaks this cycle. He doesn’t demand that we change in our own strength; instead, He offers the power of His Spirit to work within us. Philippians 2:13 tells us:
"For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose."

Grace not only enables us to change but also allows us to extend forgiveness to ourselves when we fall short. This frees us from the guilt and shame that can paralyze progress.

---

7. Community is Essential

God designed us to grow and change in community with others. When we exclude God from the process, we often isolate ourselves, believing we can handle everything alone. However, Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us:
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up."
God calls us into relationships where we can support, encourage, and hold each other accountable. Without God, we miss the blessing of Christian fellowship, which strengthens us on our journey of change.

---

8. Change Without God Misses Eternal Impact

Finally, change without God is temporary and finite. While we may see improvements in our lives or circumstances, they will ultimately fade. Only changes rooted in God’s eternal purposes have lasting impact. When we invite God into our efforts to change, we align our lives with His Kingdom work, which has eternal significance.

Matthew 6:33 reminds us:
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
By prioritizing God, we not only experience meaningful change in this life but also prepare for the life to come.

---

Conclusion

Change is not just about improving circumstances or reaching goals—it’s about transformation that glorifies God and reflects His work in our lives. Without God, change is superficial, fleeting, and often futile. But with God, change becomes a powerful testimony of His grace, strength, and purpose.

To experience lasting change, we must surrender our plans to Him, seek His guidance, and rely on His power to transform us from the inside out. As Jesus said in John 15:5:
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."

Real change begins and thrives when God is at the center. Let Him be your guide, your strength, and your foundation as you pursue transformation for His glory.

The Mistake of Manafesting

Manifesting: A Misguided Practice for Christians

Published from Blogger Prime Android App

When we are looking at clarity in our change management method it can be really tempting to use manafesting to get clear on what you want. This is dangerous and Ill adviced here's why.

In recent years, the practice of "manifesting" has gained popularity in self-help circles and on social media. Manifesting, as commonly understood, involves visualizing one’s desires and believing that positive thoughts or energies can bring these desires into reality. While this may sound appealing, it raises significant concerns for Christians. Far from being harmless, manifesting is a practice that can subtly lead believers away from God’s truth and purpose.

The Roots of Manifesting

The concept of manifesting is often rooted in New Age philosophy, which borrows ideas from Eastern mysticism, the law of attraction, and various occult practices. These belief systems typically center on the idea that humans possess the power to shape their reality through thought or energy. By visualizing success, wealth, relationships, or health, proponents claim individuals can “attract” these things into their lives.

At its core, manifesting places the emphasis on human effort and control over circumstances. This directly conflicts with the biblical understanding of God’s sovereignty and the Christian’s dependence on Him.

Biblical Contradictions

1. God’s Sovereignty
Manifesting assumes that individuals can control their destiny through their own will or positive energy. Scripture, however, teaches that God alone is sovereign over creation. Proverbs 16:9 reminds us, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” To believe that we can dictate the course of our lives undermines our reliance on God and His perfect will.

2. The Danger of Self-Centeredness
Manifesting often promotes a self-focused mindset, prioritizing personal desires over God’s purpose. Yet, Jesus calls His followers to deny themselves and take up their cross daily (Luke 9:23). The Christian life is not about fulfilling our every desire but about seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33).

3. Prayer vs. Manifestation
Manifesting blurs the line between prayer and manipulation. While prayer involves humbly bringing our requests before God and submitting to His will, manifesting seeks to impose our own will. The Bible warns against treating God like a vending machine or seeking methods to manipulate Him for personal gain.

4. Idolatry of the Self
Manifesting can lead to idolizing one’s own desires and abilities. Romans 1:25 speaks of those who “exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator.” When we place our trust in our own power to manifest outcomes, we risk placing ourselves in God’s rightful position as the ultimate authority.

Spiritual Consequences

Engaging in manifesting may seem harmless, but it opens the door to spiritual deception. By embracing principles rooted in New Age and occult philosophies, Christians risk compromising their faith. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that we are in a spiritual battle against forces of darkness. Practices like manifesting can subtly lead believers away from the truth of the gospel and into spiritual confusion.

What Christians Should Do Instead

1. Trust God’s Will
Christians are called to trust in God’s plan, even when it doesn’t align with our desires. Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

2. Pray for Guidance
Instead of attempting to manifest outcomes, believers should pray for God’s wisdom and direction. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us to present our requests to God with thanksgiving and trust that His peace will guard our hearts and minds.

3. Seek Contentment in Christ
True contentment comes not from achieving worldly success but from abiding in Christ. As Paul wrote in Philippians 4:11-13, “I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation... I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

4. Discernment in Spiritual Practices
Christians must exercise discernment and evaluate practices against the truth of Scripture. If a practice contradicts God’s Word or leads us away from Him, we must reject it, no matter how popular it may be.

Conclusion

Manifesting may appear enticing, offering control and success through positive thinking. However, for Christians, it is a dangerous deviation from faith in God. As followers of Christ, our focus should remain on seeking God’s will, trusting in His sovereignty, and surrendering our desires to Him. By doing so, we honor God and find true peace and fulfillment in His plan for our lives.

Let us remember the words of Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” True hope and fulfillment come not from manifesting, but from walking in faithful obedience to our Creator.

The Daisy Change Method - Clarity

I've given this a lot of thought and prayer. I've decided to take you through the Daisy Change Method which is our signature art of change management program, here in this blog.

As the year comes to a close, you may be thinking about the year ahead. Starting to plan for what's coming and think about what you want in life. December is often a month of reflection.

With that in mind let's get started on our art of change management process.

First we need to get really clear on what we want and where we are going.

Here are 12 questions to answer for yourself as the year closes.

1. What have I learnt over the last year?
2. How have I growen over the last year?
3. What would I change about the last year?
4. Who do I think I am now?
5. What needs to change over the coming year?
6. What creative solutions can I see for the changes needed in the coming year?
7. How am I going to go about implementing this change?
8. What are my skill gaps?
9. How can I fill those gaps this coming year?
10. What am I committed to this coming year?
11. What hurts?
12. How can I heal?

These questions are designed to help you get really clear on where you are , where you have been and where you are going.

If you were sat in a mentoring session with me, I'd walk you through these questions one by one over a few sessions. There's a lot here and so we have to remember it's not a race, we can work at our own pace.

Journal the answers to these questions down by hand if you can. They will really help you gain clarity on your current state.
